The Multazam application is a non-profit, open Islamic initiative developed as a continuous charity (Sadaqa Jariyah) to serve Muslims, pilgrims, and visitors worldwide. Safeguarding your privacy and honoring your digital dignity is a core technical and ethical principle of this application.
1. Zero Data Collection
- No User Accounts: You are never asked to create an account, register, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or social media identity.
- Zero Advertising: The application contains no advertisements, sponsored content, or ad-network integrations.
- Zero Third-Party Trackers: The application contains zero telemetry, analytics libraries, or tracking SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Facebook SDK, or data brokers).
2. Location Services (GPS)
- If you grant location permission, your geographic coordinates are processed exclusively on your physical device for two specific local functions:
- Calculating accurate local daily prayer times and determining the local bearing to the Holy Kaaba (Qibla).
- Providing optional on-device proximity notifications when approaching Miqat boundaries or Holy Mashair sites during pilgrimage.
- Your location data NEVER leaves your phone. It is never transmitted across any network, never sent to remote servers, and never saved in any cloud infrastructure. All astronomical calculations and geofence checks are executed locally on your device’s CPU.
3. Local On-Device Storage
- All personal preferences (such as selected jurisprudential school / madhhab, prayer calculation method, last read Quran verse, bookmarks, Tawaf/Sa’i lap counts, and digital tasbih totals) are stored on your device (SQLite/local store) and, if your phone’s own Google or Apple backup is turned on, in your own Google or Apple account; we never receive any of it.
- We have no access to your saved preferences. Uninstalling the app removes the locally stored data from your device, and we keep no copy of it; a copy in your phone’s own backup is managed by you in your Google or Apple settings.
4. Offline-First Architecture & Network Requests
- All core functions (Holy Quran, translations, prayer calculation, compass, Hisn al-Muslim athkar, and pilgrimage guides) function 100% offline without requiring internet connectivity.
- If you voluntarily initiate an optional download (such as supplementary adhan audio recordings or font assets), the request fetches static files directly without attaching device fingerprints, advertising IDs, or tracking cookies.
5. Children’s Privacy
- Our application is completely safe for users of all ages, including children. Because we collect zero personal data, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect, store, or share information from children.
6. Modifications to this Policy
- If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revision will be published directly in the project repository and release notes with an updated effective date. The core foundation—zero data collection and zero tracking—will never be compromised.
